Bio

Terri Potts-Chattaway spent twenty years in the television industry. She considers herself a graduate of the school of Star Trek where she began as a production associate on Star Trek: The Next Generation and five years later moved on to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as a producer in post production for seven years and 182 episodes. Some of her producer credits include working under the direction of Rick Berman and Ira Behr on the Star Trek series; Judd Apatow and Paul Feig on the series Freaks and Geeks; Judd Apatow on the series Undeclared and the pilot North Hollywood; Jeffrey Katzenberg and Joe Aguilar on the animated series Father of the Pride; and Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah on the pilots Women of a Certain Age and Life as We Know It.

In 2002, Terri worked as an executive heading the post production department of DreamWorks Television where her responsibilities included the management of five pilots, two series, one Movie of the Week and the Emmy-award winning, 20-hour miniseries, TAKEN. Executive Producer: Stephen Spielberg.

Terri also co-produced two Singing for Life concerts at Paramount Studios benefiting the Pediatric Aids Foundation and The Paulist Boy Choristers. Guests included: Ed McMahon, Paul Williams, Vicki Lawrence, 98 Degrees and The Paulist Boy Choristers. (1997/98).

When given the opportunity to be a full-time mom, Terri left the television business. When her youngest went off to college she co-founded the Channel Islands Women’s Sailing Association (CIWSA). Its mission is to encourage, educate and support women sailors of all levels of experience. Terri served as commodore for three years.

In 2013, Terri and her husband, Jay Chattaway, sold their house in Malibu, California and set sail for Mexico. She began a sailing blog detailing her cruising life and wrote for several international sailing periodicals, including; Sail, Latitudes and Attitudes, Living Aboard and Cruising Outpost.

When Terri is not home on Martha’s Vineyard writing, you will probably find her on one of their sailboats, Cadenza, a Hardin 45 ketch in the Pacific waters of Mexico or on Whiskers, their 22 Marshall catboat in Vineyard Sound.
